EVENT

Greet Sen. Ron Johnson at the Lodge

We have a plan for Sen. Ron Johnson’s visit to Sturgeon Bay on Sunday May 4th.

AS HIS CONSTITUENTS, WE WANT TO GIVE HIM A PEACEFUL INDIVISIBLE WELCOME TO OUR COUNTY If you are planning to join us, PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE.

SUNDAY MAY 4 @ 3:15PM LEATHEM SMITH LODGE

We would like everyone to be there no later than 3:15PM as we will be forming a peaceful welcoming corridor along both sides of Memorial Drive for the arriving guests. The event starts at 4:00 so we want to be in place before they arrive.

Some very important “Rules of Engagement”

  1. We cannot park in the Lodge parking lot so we will be parking on the street.

  1. Look for our Parking Guide folks in yellow or orange vests; they will guide you to a parking spot.

  1. Because there are no sidewalks, we will be standing in the street; so, we need to be as close to the curb as possible and don’t want parked cars in the way.

  1. During the Rally/Demonstration itself, please stay in the street, as close as possible to the curb. Do not go on the grass. It is private property.

  1. Leave no litter.

  1. Driving directions:

Coming from either the north or south, stay on HWY 42/57 until the Utah St. intersection. Turn west onto Utah St. (right, if coming from the north; left, if from the south) and proceed  to 15th Street. Turn left. Proceed to Memorial Drive; Turn left. Proceed east toward the Leathem Smith Lodge. Continue until you see the “Parking Guides” who will direct you to a parking area.

  1. Finally, remember there are NO SIDEWALKS.  WE WILL BE STANDING ALONG THE CURB LINE IN THE STREET. The Parking Guides and Protest Leaders will be wearing yellow or orange vests to direct you to parking areas and to answer your questions. Once parked, grab your sign, water bottle, phone etc. and head back to The Lodge Driveway area where other demonstrators are gathered. Please bring your own sign if at all possible. We will have some extras if needed.

  1. The Sturgeon Bay Police will most likely be present. We are notifying the police of our intended peaceful “welcome”.  You should not be alarmed if you see them.

We hope to see you SUNDAY.MAY 4 AT 3:15

                 LEATHEM SMITH LODGE.
