Invitation to the 2024 Thomas Paine PIE PARTY and MEET the CANDIDATES

You Are Cordially Invited to a Great FUNdraiser.

This is an official invitation.  It is the annual DP-DC Thomas Paine Dinner and Pie Party at the Kress Center in Egg Harbor – with the exciting traditional Pie Auction and a new special Award presentation.  And two Special Guest speakers both of whom are candidates for election in November:

Candidate for the Assembly Renee’ Paplham

Renee’ Paplham was born and raised in Kewaunee County. She is a graduate of UW-GB and currently works as a caregiver to individuals with special needs and as a mediator for the Green Bay Mediation Center. She says she is running to “give the people of the 1st Assembly District (Joel Kitchens) a representative who rises above partisan politics and takes on issues that improve the lives of working families.” For more details, follow her on her Facebook page.

Candidate for Congress Kristin Lyerly:

Dr. Kristin Lyerly is an OB/GYN physician with six-generations of Wisconsin roots in dairy farming and the paper industry. She is a pro-patient, pro-choice advocate who “regularly contributes to local and national conversations about access to rural healthcare, IVF, abortion, menopause, and all facets of reproductive rights.” She will compete for the 8th Congressional District seat left vacant by Mike Gallagher’s unexpected departure. 1st High School Student Scholarship Award

The Democratic Party of Door County takes pride in presenting our first Future of Democracy Scholarship to a Door County high school student who has put their progressive values to work to make a positive change in their community. The Recipient of this Award will be announced and introduced by our Youth Representative, Yana Zenefski. Each candidate was evaluated in part on their response of 200 to 750 words to the following questions:
1. How has the need for justice and equality influenced your academic and extracurricular pursuits throughout high school?  How do you plan your future education to further these ideas?
2. Discuss how you advocate for and live progressive values within your community and the political framework as a whole.
This Event is the Door County Democrat’s major fund raiser for the year.

$40/ person donation (scholarships available) and for the Pie Party auction you are asked to bring a pie. 920-365-1047. The formal announcement will have more details about the menu, reservations and speakers.

Sunday, June 30, 2:00- 4:00, supporters of the Tri-County Influence Campaign invite you to come hear singer/ songwriter Katie Dahl, composer James Kaplan and support our “Vote for Democrats. They vote for US.” campaign. The fund raising event will be held in the lobby of the Democratic Party
